In The Word: Psalm 34

In the Word small

Last week was one of those busy-every-day, can’t-catch-your-breath kind of weeks.  For the second week in a row.

It was exhausting on many levels and when Friday rolled around – my off-work day – I still had a lot on my plate with errands to run, laundry to do, and preparation for a big PTO fundraiser at school.  Needless to say, at one point in the day I was tearful with all of the overwhelming pressure and responsibilities.

And then I took the time to read my daily Bible reading from my Run to Him (Quench Bible Study).  Psalm 34.  If you need some encouragement, some gratitude, some rest, or just some good old worship –

Read Psalm 34.

Psalm 34:8 – O taste and see that the Lord is good!  Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!

I have been changing up my readings between a few versions and love it when God’s Word shoots like an arrow straight into my spirit.  I’ve been focusing on the Holman Christian Standard, the English Standard, and the Amplified versions.  I love how each one uses different adjectives for describing God and the many ways we can lift Him up.

If you need a shot in the arm or a boost in your spirit today – grab your Bible, open your Bible phone app, or click the link above to read Psalm 34.  Soak it in.  Read it out loud.  Write out a verse or two (or the whole thing) and see if your perspective doesn’t change.  God’s Word is SO powerful.  It’s why we have to be IN. THE. WORD. every single day and why life just seems so dismal when we don’t.

Whether you can spend 10 minutes reading and breathing in His Word – or whether you can meditate for an hour or more – DON’T miss out on this part of your day!
