I find myself sitting in the living room, fully dressed – unshowered – waiting to get Curly up to get her ready for school. My mind is racing with thoughts for today – things I need to do, things I should do, things I’d love to do. This week, I’ve been working on getting into a routine – a schedule – and so far, things are progressing. Having a daily list is really essential – although the “time slots” are still flexible, I’m getting my brain into gear so I can be more efficient and less stressed.
The wind is WILD, isn’t it? I’m really horrified by the death toll of the storms across the country this week. 150+ deaths! How sad. It’s awful to see the ruin and devastation caused by tornadoes and severe storms. Praying for Alabama, especially.
Are you watching the royal wedding? I was TOTALLY into Charles and Diana’s wedding, but I’m much older now, so I’m recording the event and will watch it later. lol
Today – I am thankful for my family’s safety. One night earlier this week we had a pretty bad scare when Curly somehow managed to get a necklace between a nightlight plug and an outlet. It caused sparking and scorching – but the breaker didn’t blow and she could have been injured (gulp! or worse). Thanking God for his protection. She had stood in the living room only moments before praying for us and praying for our safety. I thank God for his protection and kept singing “Angels watching over me…” the rest of the evening.
I’m also thankful for His Providence. No matter what struggles any of us face, I think we can all point to a time when God provided for our needs (and even our wants) in a way that only HE could do. Are you up against a wall? Are you backed into a corner? Do you feel like you’re at the end of your rope? Stop and think about a time when God provided for you and thank Him for being YHWH-jireh, your Provider.
With all my heart I praise the LORD, and with all that I am I praise his holy name!
With all my heart I praise the LORD!
I will never forget how kind he has been.
The LORD forgives our sins, heals us when we are sick,
and protects us from death.
His kindness and love are a crown on our heads.
Each day that we live, he provides for our needs
and gives us the strength of a young eagle.
Psalm 103: 1-5 (CEV)
